Mini Dreamcatcher Necklace Project by Cat Kerr
I have been itching to create mini dreamcatchers to wear around the neck for a long time! I loved the idea but it never came together in my head so I put it aside. When Coffee Break Designs came out with their chipboard feathers, the very same idea started floating around again and at last, it all came together.
We’d love to see what you are making. Share your artwork on Instagram using #StampingtonMade for a chance to be a featured artist on @stampington!
Mini Dreamcatcher Necklace Project Directions:
Shape the blackened steel wire to the shape of a dreamcatcher. Repeat to make three.
Brush Iced Enamels Medium onto each dreamcatcher. Sprinkle with Iced Enamels Turquoise Relique Powder, and shake off excess powder.
Use a heat gun, and slowly and evenly heat each dreamcatcher until the enamel sets. Be careful — the wire will be hot; allow it to cool before touching.
Wrap green Baker’s Twine around the edge of one dreamcatcher, and tie the ends together. Add some beads to the ends of the cording.
Decoupage two coats of glitter onto three chipboard feathers. Add a layer of resin. Sprinkle on a pinch of Iced Enamels Relique Powder, and let cure 24 hours.
Rub on word, and add an additional layer of resin.
Drill a hole on the top of the feather. Use a head pin to create a loop on top of the feather.
Use pliers to attach feather to a piece of chain and then directly to the dreamcatchers.
If desired, add additional metal charms.
