Merry & Bright Holiday Mixed-Media Project
We last used these metallic rub-ons by Tim Holtz to adorn gift wrap and make ornaments using Sandra Evertson’s Relics and Artifacts. Now taking them a step further, we decided it was time to add them to a piece o f art. This holiday mixed-media project is sure to make your days merry and bright.
Merry & Bright Holiday Mixed-Media Project:
Collage paper from Tim Holtz Yuletide paper stash onto the canvas background with gel medium. Let dry.
Paint over the collaged paper with white acrylic paint. Let dry.
Add hints of green and blue acrylic paint until you are satisfied with the color combination.
Free hand or use a stencil to draw ornaments onto vintage sheet music. Cut out, each shape and then paint with acrylic paint.
Once ornaments are completely dry, glue them to the background with gel medium.
Add gold rub-ons to the corners.
Draw in string and outline ornaments with Stabilo All Marking Pencil. Add doodles.
Edge with scalloped cut patterned paper.
