Until You Spread Your Wings Mixed-Media Canvas Project
On my daily walks, dandelion seeds dance before me. Something about them reminds me of snowflakes, as they flitter across my path. In that instant, they bring to me a sign of possibilities, newness, and growth. They don’t think twice before they set themselves free from their blossom, rather they are nudged by the wind to let go and fly free. I watch as they scatter across the grass, where they will no doubt plant their seeds, and the cycle of life will start again.
Until You Spread Your Wings Mixed-Media Canvas Project Directions:
Collage the background of a canvas with assorted papers, glue on with 3D Gloss Gel. Set aside to dry or use a heat gun to speed up the drying process.
Randomly apply Dina Wakley Media’s acrylic paint onto the background, allowing some of the collaged papers to show through.
Add ink drips with green spray ink.
Mix yellow paint with Ranger texture paste, then use Patterns Strips Stencil to add triangles.
Use the mini ink blending tool and acrylic paint to stencil on turquoise and black dots.
Stamp scalloped border with permanent black ink.
Stamp Silhouetted Women and Clearly the Right Words onto scrap paper. Cut out and adhere to canvas with gel medium. Cut out and attach butterfly wing.
