Family Memo Holder Project
We can always text, call, tweet, or facebook each other, but sometimes it’s nice to leave a handwritten note or personalized message for a loved one! When I saw the 7gypsies Ticket Holder, I knew it would be great for displaying pictures, but wanted to try and come up with a way for it to be used at home. One of my colleagues gave me the inspiring idea of turning it into a family memo and message holder! This is a great creative living idea, and you can coordinate the colors of your ephemera to suit your home’s décor.
Since it’s a memo board, I decided to use a picture of an old telephone. I took the picture myself, and just in case you don’t happen to have an old phone to photograph, we are offering the picture as a FREE download, as well! The picture is already altered with a sepia tone—just print it out on some kraft colored paper for a cool, vintage look.
Insert the telephone picture, a Cahier, assorted ephemera, and some envelope and flower staple products into the display. You can easily add your handwritten notes and sentiments into the display as needed to communicate with your family.
I created a coordinating jar to hold pens and pencils or other odds and ends. Simply wrap strips of the brown Music Tape and the Check Sherbet Fabric Tape around the jar. The colors of the tapes coordinate beautifully with the color of the Cahier I used. On the jar, wrap a piece of dark brown twine or floss around the middle and tie a bow. Use one of the Petit Carnet French Notebooks to use in front of the holder for handwritten notes also.
