The Start of a New Beginning Art Journal Page Project
There’s just something about circles. The circle of life, what goes around comes around, coming full circle, and going round in circles all have the beauty of life’s little repetitions. Each circle is the perpetual start of a new beginning, so this journal celebrates life in a new way for all the beginnings that it brings.
The Start of a New Beginning Art Journal Page Project Directions:
Collage the background of an art journal page with scrapbook paper and book text using gel medium.
Paint over the collaged page with gesso.
Layer yellow and green acrylic paint onto the background.
Spritz a drip of ink spray toward the bottom of the page. Let dry, or use a heat gun to speed up the dry time.
Add another light layer of gesso, blended with green paint.
Lay the Wheel in the Sky stencil down a bit off center onto background, and stencil the circle using the mini ink blending tool and black paint. Allow this first stencil layer to dry.
Next, randomly place your stencil on the page, and then add scallops and other elements from the stencil using the mini ink blending tool and black paint.
Add dots with a white acrylic paint pen. Color in other elements with hot pink acrylic paint pen.
Add stripes within the circle with the Fude Ball Pen.
Doodle heart at the bottom of the page.
Stamp quote onto white cardstock with black ink. Cut out, and glue to the background with gel medium.
