To make a one-of-a-kind gift tag, print out the desired silhouette so that it’s slightly smaller than the tag you’ll be using. Flip the paper over and, with a pencil, scribble on the backside of the shape. With the scribble side down, place the paper onto the tag, and use a ballpoint pen to trace the shape. The pressure from the pen will transfer the graphite to the tag. Place the tag on a piece of cardboard and carefully cut out the silhouette with a craft knife. Cut out a piece of patterned paper and glue it to the back of the tag. You can also cut out the star at the top of the tree or instead add some sparkle with glitter.
For the mason jar candleholder, repeat the graphite transfer process, this time on the backside of contact paper. Cut the shape out, and stick it to a mason jar. Spray the jar with a primer, and when dry, spray the desired color. Let dry thoroughly and carefully remove the contact paper shape from the jar. Add a candle and embellish as desired.
If you’d like to use the shapes as stencils, you can print them onto cardstock, cut them out, and apply paint or spray ink through the silhouettes to make gift wrap. You could also transfer the silhouette to a paper bag, cut it out, add adhere a piece of vellum or glassine to create a peek-a-boo window. With such versatile printables, the only limit is your imagination.
