UPC:

Somerset Studio artist Pam Carriker showcases her extraordinary talent for creating mixed-media journals with this new vibrant project. Using Dina Wakley's textured Garden Grunge stamp line, Pam filled her books with turquoise and green hues, abstract collage images, and edgy layering techniques.

Hold on to the Gift/Raise Your Hand Journal Pages
For the background, apply watercolor paints with brushes by dripping and spraying with a spray bottle, letting the colors dry between applications. Use sequin waste or other stencils with chalk inks to add texture and interest. Using mixed-media adhesive, add scraps of painted paper scraps. Here I used the negative part of a hand cutout from my scrap box. Stamp Dina Wakley's Grunge Growth stamp and Grunge Flowers stamp onto the hands using Jet Black StazOn Ink. Use water soluble pencils, Inktense blocks, and watercolor paints to enhance the page. When dry, add journaling and doodling with permanent black artist pens.

My Shadow Journal Page
For the background, apply watercolor paints with brushes, by dripping and spraying with a spray bottle, letting the colors dry between applications. Stamp Dina Wakley's Grungy Silhouette, Textured Scrawl, and Collage Counting using Jet Black StazOn Ink. Stamp the middle silhouette with a light colored chalk ink and stamp the third silhouette onto a scrap of tissue paper using Forest Green StazOn ink. Adhere the stamped tissue to the page using mixed-media adhesive. Use watercolors, Inktense blocks, and a water soluble pencil to shade around the figures. Finish the page with additional doodling and journaling.
