Planning a Party? Ideas and Inspiration for Party Invitations and Favors Project

I’m one of those girls that really, really loves to throw a party… I love making invitations, gifts, preparing food and decorations. The new storage tubes available at The Shoppe at Somerset are perfect for party invites, favors and confetti. The tubes are made of a durable plastic so you don’t need to worry about them breaking, plus they have a secure, screw on lid so the contents will stay in there with no worries.

You can use the tubes with just about any color combination you want, I like the simplicity of the black lids on the tubes and wanted to coordinate the tubes with Cherry Divine Twine so I decided to go with a red, black and white color scheme. If you don’t like the black lids you could easily paint the lids or alter them to suit your color scheme. Finding red m&ms wasn’t nearly as hard as I imagined. Depending on where you live this may be a challenge, in southern California you can easily find them at Party Supply stores and major craft stores.

Invitation Tubes
The first part of the project was the invitations. I designed my invitations in Microsoft word and printed them out on plain white printer paper. Roll the invites up and stick inside the 1” x 4” Storage Tubes. Screw the lid on and then wrap some Cherry Divine Twine around the top of the tube a few times and tie a bow.

Candy Favor Tubes
For the favor tubes I used the 1 3/8” x 4” Storage tubes and filled them with the red m&ms. I then used the envelope punch to punch a mini white envelope for each tube, and handwrote “thanks” onto each envelope. You can insert a mini letter into the envelopes if desired. Using a very small hole punch I punched a hole in the corner of each mini envelope and threaded through a piece of the Cherry Divine Twine and tied a bow.

Confetti Tubes
Most party supply stores have a good variety of confetti styles and colors. I was able to find a large bag of white confetti but I decided to add a small amount of red also. For the red confetti I punched out the holes from a red cardstock using a regular sized hole punch and mixed them throughout the white. I then filled the 1/2” x 6” Storage Tubes with the confetti.
