Pillow Cover Purse Project by Roben-Marie Smith

No reviews yet

Use the Gel Printing Plate and a brayer, along with a variety of acrylic paint, stencils, and Punchinella to create a background on the 10" x 18" Natural Canvas Pillow Cover. I also turned the case inside out and added paint to the middle section.

Place the pillow cover front-side down with the "pillow" opening to the right. Fold the left side to the right just to the opening. Fold the right side over to the left (this is the front of the purse). Stitch strips of fabric across this flap horizontally. I stitched about seven, one inch wide pieces to the flap. Trim off the excess fabric that overlaps the edges. Add a purse snap for a closure. I added a shank button with a tinker pin to hold it in place on the front just for an embellishment.

Open the flap and stitch up the two sides. You should have two pockets inside the purse when finished.
