Cameo Couture Project
These adorable ready-to-alter cameos are great for all sorts of crafting projects, but I thought that they would make lovely pendants so I decided to use them in a wearable arts project. You could add a picture to the center instead of paper and flowers, the choice is yours!
Start by painting the top of the background round cameos with sand acrylic paint. Try to just paint the top layer and not the outside edges - I personally like how the dark brown edges pop against the light brown paint.
Take the circles from the other round frame cameos and cut circle pieces of vintage text to adhere to the circle. Layer two flowers on top of the paper. I used Diamond Glaze adhesive. Glue the circles onto the center of the background cameos.
Add a simple embellishment to the center of the flowers like a small black button or an elegant black rhinestone. Thread black seam binding ribbon through the holes and tie the ends.
The circle cameos were convenient to turn into a necklace, however the oval cameos don’t have a circle to loop the ribbon or chain through, so instead you can wire wrap wound the edges to create your own loop.
