The Early Bird Gets the Bookworm Library Card Goodie Bags Project

Spring has finally arrived at our offices and the birds are chirping from the trees. Upcycle some library cards and sleeves to commemorate the season and add some mixed-media details. Treat your friend to a handwritten letter on a library card, with some goodies in a Kraft bag. Sending handwritten letters, cards and notes is an easy way to let someone know you care.

The Early Bird Gets the Bookworm Library Card Goodie Bags Directions:

Coat the surface of the library card pocket with gesso.

Apply Dina Wakley’s turquoise acrylic paint onto the envelope. Use Ranger Ink Texture Tools to move the paint around.

Add a bit of navy blue acrylic paint over the turquoise, and use the texture tools to move the paint around.

Add a strip of torn book text.

Stamp birds from Cavallini & Co. Birds and Nest stamp set.

Stamp names onto the library cards with the Cavallini & Co. Alphabet Stamp Set. Then write words of encouragement, sentiment or a note.

Wrap pocket with twine, and add word stickers.
