Project Life Quick & Easy Cards

No reviews yet

I wanted to experiment with Tim Holtz’s new bite-sized Distress Ink Minis, which are convenient for projects on the go. Along with carrying them in your purse for whenever inspiration hits, I tried to picture another scenario where these compact and functional mini ink pads might be really useful. Imagine you’re rushing out the door to a birthday party, a wedding celebration, or just a gathering with your friends, and then you realize you have no greeting card to give — we’ve all been there. I decided to use the American Craft Project Life Jade cards, which are perfect for creating a quick and easy set of greeting cards for any occasion. I wanted to fashion a set of inspirational cards with a mixed-media vibe, so I combined the Project Life cards with torn kraft paper, and dipped into my stash of Distress Ink Minis.

Project Life Quick & Easy Cards Tutorial:

First, tear the edges off some Eco Natural Ruled Kraft Paper and adhere to three white cards. You don’t have to tear, you can keep the kraft paper as is and add some straight angles for a more modern look. Or, you could do both and incorporate straight lines and torn edges. Next, stamp various textures from Dina Wakley’s Media Cling Texture Stamps using the mini ink pads. Once your ink is dry, fold over the edge of each card and adhere. Finish by adding a few Chit Chat Word Stickers to your card.
