Mixed-Media Bird Journals Project
Make your journal covers pop with bursts of color and bird stamps, sure to inspire an air of freedom as you create. Follow along with Shoppe Manager Vanessa Spencer for the simple tutorial:
Start by painting the Moleskine journal covers roughly using white gesso and a foam brush. While the gesso is drying, stamp the Dina Wakley scribbly birds onto the Art Pops cards by Roben-Marie Smith using black ink. Glue the cards onto the journal covers.
Add some strips of the cross patterned washi tape and cut some of the Art Pops sticker tape to measure approximately the same width as the washi, and embellish the journals with just small strips here and there.
Using pink and green gelatos, I colored some very small areas on top of the white gesso to lightly accent the colors in the cards. Use a paper towel with a tiny bit of water to rub the colors in for a watercolor effect.
Add some small handwritten quotes or try using some chit chat stickers on the cover to complete your bird journals.
