Jasmine and Dead Sea Salt Soap Making Project
I have been downsizing clutter and accumulating housewares for over a year now, preparing to buy my first home. I have been thinking through every little detail — from the curtains to the type of toilet paper. For the guest bathroom, I have dreams of creamy white neutrals. Eggshell towels, off-white bath mats, sparkling white porcelain. To prepare it for guests, I have a few of the essentials packed in a decorative box on the counter. These soaps were the perfect addition. The jasmine flowers, with their delicate white buds, immediately drew me further into my dream bathroom and I was inspired to create a few soaps for special occasions. These guest soaps also have a heavenly scent for visitors to enjoy.
Jasmine and Dead Sea Salt Soap Making Project Directions:
Prepare the tart tins by spritzing with rubbing alcohol or vodka to ensure that your soaps will slide out of the mold once it’s set.
Cut the clear, Aloe Vera soap base into 1-inch cubes and place in a microwave safe measuring cup.
Microwave soap base in 30-second increments until it is thoroughly melted.
Optional: add a few drops of Jasmine essential oil to enhance the flowers’ natural scent.
Sprinkle a few Jasmine buds into the bottom of the tart tin.
Pour soap into the tin. Wait a few seconds until the top surface begins to cure a little bit, then sprinkle with Dead Sea Salt for extra exfoliant.
Place in refrigerator to set overnight.
Once the soaps have set, they should pop out of the tins pretty easily. You can flex the sides of the tart tins outward to get the soaps to release. Wrap each soap in decorative packaging or leave in an elegant soap dish on the counter.
