I Love Being Queen Canvas Project
Finnabair’s new Metallique Waxes are vivid color that’s easy to apply and add detail with. Just create your textured background, then rub on the waxes to make everything pop with vivid shine. For this canvas, I paired Ingrid Pomeroy’s postcards with Finnabair’s shine to create a complementary design that celebrates life with Marie Antoinette-style flair.
I Love Being Queen Canvas Directions:
Scribble entire piece of sheet music with Iced Rosé and Silver Ice gelatos by Faber-Castell. Blend with a blending tool, then remove any excess color with a water brush and a paper towel.
Brush on a thin layer of Liquitex Clear Gesso. Tip: Do not use many strokes! This will remove the gelatos from the previous layer. The clear gesso allows the texture paste to adhere because otherwise the surface would be too waxy.
Apply texture paste through a stencil to opposite top and bottom corners. Allow to dry completely. Rub Metallique Wax in Rose Gold to the stenciled design with your finger.
Edge entire canvas with Rose Gold Metallique Wax, pulling the color toward the middle of the canvas.
With Old Silver Metallique Wax, rub your finger along the edges of the canvas again to add dimension with the silver wax. Do not pull the color inward.
Cut two squares from an Ingrid Pomeroy postcard, one right above the other. Position on the canvas and adhere with gel medium.
Cover chipboard crown with thin layer of Old Silver Metallique Wax, then add a few touches of Rose Gold Metallique Wax. Adhere to postcard image with gel medium.
Stamp sentiment on a separate piece of paper. For this canvas, I stamped the Dina Wakley Scribbly Insects sentiment, but trimmed the words down to “I Love Being Queen.” Edge each word with Iced Rosé gelatos. Adhere to canvas.
