Wild for Wooden Embellishments Project by Christen Olivarez
I’ve been absolutely charmed by laser-cut wooden embellishments since I first laid eyes on them. As a lover of all things rustic, I took an instant liking to the plain wood surface. They’re great to use as they are, but there is so much more you can do with them.
Keeping true to their wooden nature, I applied Diamond Glaze to one of the flower shapes. Once dry, I simply threaded a chain through one of the openings and instantly had a fashionable necklace. You could also get a faux enamel effect by painting the shape and then applying the Diamond Glaze. The choice is yours.
The plain surface is ideal for a variety of mediums, especially paint. They just need one coat of paint to turn them any color you desire. A word of caution though: Apply paint with a light hand, as once paint gets into the crevices, it can be hard to get out. Tie the shapes to a gift and you get a one-of-a-kind topper, perfect to dress up even the plainest of packaging. The surface also takes stamps well, especially those with designs on the side And speaking of packaging, these embellishments come in cute, little wooden boxes that can be used long after all the shapes are gone. The size is perfect for altering. At such a great price, this is a product you can’t afford not to pick up and play with!
