Washi Fabric Bags Project

No reviews yet

Washi tape is one of my favorite go-to crafting supplies, so of course when I came across washi stamps I knew there would be some fun projects in the forecast! I love stamping onto fabric, and these Prima Washi Tape Wood Stamps make it so easy and fun to add faux torn tape designs to your fabric projects.

My favorite ink to use is StazOn Ink which is great for stamping onto a variety of surfaces, although the directions indicate that it’s best for leather and not fabric. However I have found that as long as I am not going to wash the fabric, it actually works quite well on cotton.

I used three colors of StazOn Ink - Mustard, Teal and Stone Gray for a fun color palette. On the muslin bags I stamped the washi designs down the left side of the bags, alternating the colors and designs. Since the stamps are quite small, you can create the look of a longer piece of tape by stamping the same design multiple times to connect it.

Tip: If the bag is being used for a birthday gift, then try stamping the birthday girl's (or boy's) birth date on the front of the bag using Cavallini. & Co. Vintage number stamps.
