Kiss the Cook Wall Hanging Project by Kerri Winterstein
I was eager to use some of the vintage-inspired Homemade Images & Journaling Notes when I was designing this wall hanging. With so many adorable images to choose from, I knew I wanted them to be the centerpiece of the project.
To begin, I chose a square canvas and used a brush to paint it with one layer of Eco Green Crafts acrylic paint, in Tidepool my favorite from the colors they offer. Once the paint was dry, I then chose a couple contrasting pieces of cardstock and glued them to the canvas. I thought a plain white doily would add the perfect touch to a kitchen-themed project, so I was sure to tuck one in-between the two squares of cardstock. The mason jar and vegetable images were selected from the Homemade Images & Journaling Notes, carefully cut and then glued to the cardstock squares. I cut a piece of cream-colored cardstock into a banner shape and added a quotation using alphabet stamps and black ink. (Although I used stamps from my personal collection, I would recommend trying Cavallini’s Alphabet Rubber Stamps. To stick with the vintage theme, I decided to add a touch of brown ink around the edges of the canvas for a charmingly worn look. As for the final touches, I chose three coordinating buttons, a small piece of worn fabric and two strands of seam binding – tied neatly into a bow!
This vintage-inspired wall art can easily be altered to fit the color and style of your own kitchen. Perhaps it will even inspire someone to "kiss the cook" more often!
