Glue a sheet of newsprint onto a 10" x 10" canvas or piece of heavy-duty cardboard. Once dry, cover lightly with diluted Gesso.
Allow to dry thoroughly, and then apply a scalloped edge to the border using Painterly Pink acrylic paint from the Claudine Hellmuth Studio line.
After the paint has dried, apply additional layers of diluted Gesso until the desired effect is achieved. Use a thin-tipped black marker to draw messy outlines along and add dots to the centers of the scallops.
Cut out the two dolls and two outfits from the Classic Fashions of Christian Dior book. Put the outfits onto the dolls, and use tape to lightly secure the tabs (so that the dolls can be redressed with other outfits in the future, if so desired).
Glue together two buttons to create a spacer, and repeat to make four spacers. Affix two spacers onto the back of each doll and glue the dolls onto the decorated canvas.
Use embroidery floss to create four strands between the dolls and glue in place.
Attach notes or memorabilia using clips from the Can o' Clips.
