Art Deco Wallpaper Ledge Project by Sarah Donawerth

No reviews yet

When I came across this rustic wood ledge, I knew I had to make something that could hold my brushes. I can set it on the back of my table and keep everything contained for the moment creativity hits. With a little bit of paint and texture paste, the finished result will bring a bit of color into my workspace.

Art Deco Wallpaper Ledge Project Directions:

Paint the wood ledge with Golden chalkboard paint. Let dry.

Mix texture paste with Golden Olive chalkboard paint so that it is thick, but thoroughly tinted green.

With a palette knife, apply the tinted texture paste through the stencil. I recommend doing one section at a time and allowing each to dry before beginning the next.

Pour walnut stain ink in a dish and dilute slightly with water. Brush stain onto wood ledge, allowing it to accumulate in the crevices of your stenciled design.

If the stain is too dark, allow the piece to dry, then rub some of the stain off with a wet paper towel or baby wipe until desired effect is achieved.
