Upcycled Yogurt Containers Wall Decor and Storage Idea

I like to imagine that when Yoplait launched their new line of yogurt that is packaged in simple glass jars, they had crafters in mind. Once you’ve enjoyed your treat, you can easily clean the jar and remove the label to reveal a glass container with an interesting shape and clean lines. It’s probably no surprise that I have more than a few of these jars in my stash just waiting to be transformed into something new.

While perusing Pinterest for some inspiration, photos of jars strung from tree branches flooded my feed. The beautiful simplicity of the jars holding flower and greenery clippings called to me. Even better was the thought that I already had everything I needed in my craft room and my backyard. I love nothing more than when I can immediately satisfy my creative urges. Of course, you can make this with any other glass jars you may have on hand.

As I hung the jars from the branch, I thought of other things I could place inside the jars. Battery-powered candles would create a warm and cozy ambiance. I could also use the jars as a place to organize some of my office and craft supplies so they’d be within arm’s reach. The only limit is your own imagination.

Begin by thoroughly cleaning the jars with warm, soapy water. If you use this particular type of jar, the labels easily peel right off. Tear fabric into long, thin strips. Wrap a strip around the lip of the jar, while securing another long strip on either side. Tie the first strip into a knot, and then tie each end of the other strip into a knot.

Add hooks or a hammer to the branch, if you’d like to hang the jars in that way. You can also use a cow-hitch or slipknot to secure the jars to the branch. Tie jute around the ends of the branch, and hang. If using this as a flower holder, fill each jar with a small amount of water and a few flower and greenery clippings. Otherwise, fill the jars with whatever you desire.

How do I get published?

Thanks for your interest in our magazines! We encourage you to visit our Calls & Challenges  page to see what our editors are looking for.

Ready to begin? Here is where you can find our Submission Guidelines.

How do I change my address?

Our subscriptions ship directly from our printer in Wisconsin. For this reason, we need to be notified of your change of address at least two months before the next issue comes out, or it will be sent to the address we had on file and provided to our printer at the time it was due.

How to Notify Us About Your Change of Address
  1. Email the following to customerservice@stampington.com:
  • The publication(s) you subscribe to
  • Your name and new address
  • Your old address

2. Call to inform us of your new mailing address:

  • Toll-Free: 1-877-782-6737 or International: 1-949-380-7318
Mail Forwarded by the Post Office

If you forward mail to your new address through the Post Office, it won't apply to periodicals/your magazine subscription unfortunately. Also, since mail forwarding only lasts for a short time-frame, we request that you still notify us of your address change to prevent any service interruption to your subscription.

Stampington & Company cannot be held responsible for replacing "lost" issues from your subscription, if we did not receive your change of address request at least two months prior to your next issue's release date.

What if one of my issues doesn't arrive?

Subscription issues should arrive within the first week of the month your publication is released. Please add up to two weeks for international delivery.

If your magazine has not arrived by the 20th of the month, please contact our customer service department, so we can check to make sure nothing is amiss with your subscription, and see if you're eligible for a replacement copy. International subscribers can receive a digital version of the magazine as a replacement if one attempt has already been made to deliver the print edition to you.

Stampington & Company cannot be held responsible for postal delays or circumstances outside of our control, but we will make every effort to make it right.
