Guest Bathroom Decorative Soaps & Essentials Project

When guests come to town, our family pulls out all the stops to create the best impression. Even when my brother, who knows the day-to-day mess we live in, comes to town, my whole family is cleaning, polishing, and organizing with a mad haste that is unparalleled the rest of the year. My mother instilled in me the value of hospitality and providing the best experience when people come to visit, so these soaps are for visitors. Once the counters are cleaned off of the toiletries, hairbrushes, and makeup that usually finds its home there, this sweet trio of wire baskets can be brought out to provide a instant makeover for the bathroom and set the tone for the entire guest bathroom.

Guest Bathroom Decorative Soaps & Essentials Directions:

Melt a small amount of Goat’s Milk Soap Base in a microwave-safe container. Microwave on high in 15 second intervals until melted through. Stir occasionally with a disposable utensil.

Spray mold with rubbing alcohol, then pour soap base into a shapes mold and set in refrigerator for at least 15 minutes. I used a silicone baking mold to create the heart shapes.

Pop your shapes out of the mold and set in the center of the soap mold. Melt Honey Soap Base and pour around each shape in the mold. Fill slightly past the shape in the middle so that it is covered. Set in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Alternative Method: Pour white soap base in a thin sheet onto a piece of wax paper, and then cut out shapes with cookie cutters. Pour the Honey Soap Base into soap mold, wait for it to begin cooling down, then drop the cookie cutter shapes on top. If you waited too long and the shapes didn’t stick, you can also remelt the top of the soap base with a heat gun and “glue” the cookie cutter shapes to the slightly melted soap.

Fill bottom of wire basket with scrap muslin, and place soaps on top. Wrap a piece of scrap lace around base of basket. Fill the other baskets in the set with hand towels, toiletries and more to complete the country chic look.

How do I get published?

Thanks for your interest in our magazines! We encourage you to visit our Calls & Challenges  page to see what our editors are looking for.

Ready to begin? Here is where you can find our Submission Guidelines.

How do I change my address?

Our subscriptions ship directly from our printer in Wisconsin. For this reason, we need to be notified of your change of address at least two months before the next issue comes out, or it will be sent to the address we had on file and provided to our printer at the time it was due.

How to Notify Us About Your Change of Address
  1. Email the following to customerservice@stampington.com:
  • The publication(s) you subscribe to
  • Your name and new address
  • Your old address

2. Call to inform us of your new mailing address:

  • Toll-Free: 1-877-782-6737 or International: 1-949-380-7318
Mail Forwarded by the Post Office

If you forward mail to your new address through the Post Office, it won't apply to periodicals/your magazine subscription unfortunately. Also, since mail forwarding only lasts for a short time-frame, we request that you still notify us of your address change to prevent any service interruption to your subscription.

Stampington & Company cannot be held responsible for replacing "lost" issues from your subscription, if we did not receive your change of address request at least two months prior to your next issue's release date.

What if one of my issues doesn't arrive?

Subscription issues should arrive within the first week of the month your publication is released. Please add up to two weeks for international delivery.

If your magazine has not arrived by the 20th of the month, please contact our customer service department, so we can check to make sure nothing is amiss with your subscription, and see if you're eligible for a replacement copy. International subscribers can receive a digital version of the magazine as a replacement if one attempt has already been made to deliver the print edition to you.

Stampington & Company cannot be held responsible for postal delays or circumstances outside of our control, but we will make every effort to make it right.

What does shipping cost?

You can also take advantage of free U.S. shipping on select pre-orders of your favorite magazines (discounted International rates will apply). Browse our selection of Pre-Orders With Free U.S. Shipping here.
