4 Creative Uses for Divine Twine
Who doesn’t love Baker’s Twine? My love affair with it started many years ago, and hasn’t stopped. I love how diverse it is, and how it can be used on any sort of art or packaging project.
This week, we were inspired to come up with 4 unique ideas that use baker’s twine — from mail art to hand-stamped cards to pretty soap packaging to contemporary gift wrap ribbon — the possibilities are endless.
4 Creative Uses for Divine Twine Project Directions
1) Soap
Use either a plastic soap mold or tart tins, and this recipe to create handmade soap. Cut a strip of unbleached waxed paper to fit around the soap. Cut a smaller strip of burlap for an added touch. Wrap with green twine to add a pop of color, and adorn with sprigs of dried flowers.
2) Mail Art
Tear a strip of corrugated cardboard slightly smaller than the Art Pops Card. Layer cardboard and Art Pops Card. Add a scrap of book text to the center of the card, and add a light layer of gesso to soften the text a bit, but still allow it to show through. Stamp heart and word. Wrap with green twine.
Adorn a small glassine envelope with a strip of book text, stamped kraft label, and a Small Talk Sticker. Stamp word across the bottom right corner. Wrap with green twine.
3) Contemporary Gift Packaging
Wrap your gift with kraft paper. Stamp heart onto a kraft circle label, and then attach to a white tag. Wrap the package with teal twine, and knot. Thread the tag with twine to attach.
4) Card
Cut white and kraft cardstock to the same size. Circle-punch white cardstock. Stamp wreath and words. Attach the white and kraft cardstock together with patterned washi tape. Adorn with red twine.
