Wander Canvas Project
It is through wandering that I explore.
It is through wandering I get to engage, seek, and discover. By wandering I am able to discover the beauty of life — be it through words, nature, lyrics, or art. I’ve found that there is always something new to discover. Wandering brings me home, keeps me humbled, and best of all, moves me forward and propels me into the great abyss.
Sometimes the abyss seems intangible, but I don’t let that stop me. I continue to explore under, with, and through the unknown until I see the smallest speck of light that helps to guide me to the end. And with that, I am shown the way to my next adventure.
Wander Canvas Project Directions
Prime the surface of the canvas with gesso. Let dry.
Layer vintage text, Melange Tissue Wrap, and ledger paper to the background. Glue the papers to the canvas with gel medium. Coat the entire surface with gel medium, and let dry.
Use a dry foam brush, randomly apply gesso around the collaged papers.
Set a piece of scratch paper over the layered papers to mask and lightly spritz the canvas with Cracked Pistachio Distress Spray Stain. Use a baby wipe or wet paper towel to spread the ink around, to help blend the color and to wipe off any paint that strayed onto the vintage papers.
Randomly apply White Sand Texture Paste to the edges and corners. Once dry, spritz with White Linen spray ink, and then again with Cracked Pistachio.
Spray a piece of lace with Cracked Pistachio. Once dry, layer a strip of burlap with dyed lace and glue to the bottom corner.
Stamp Paris street address text with permanent black ink.
Add markings using a Stabilo All pencil.
Edge the canvas with Pumice Stone Distress Ink Mini from kit.
To finish, glue a flower and philosophy tag.
