Trick or Treat Slide Mailer Project

To create this slide mailer, I began by experimenting with texture. Several attempts later, I found an interesting technique in priming the mailer with gesso and applying stamped kraft tissue over it. In a happy accident, the ink also changed color slightly the more I played with the surface of the mailer, creating an interesting effect.

Trick or Treat Slide Mailer Project Directions

Prime the entire surface of a double sided slide mailer with white gesso.

Stamp text onto kraft tissue paper with brown ink.

Adhere the tissue paper to the front and back of the slide mailer with gel medium. Set aside to dry.

Cut out ARTchix Faux Postage Pumpkin Collage Sheet and place between two glass slides. Use washi tape to hold the slides together.

Adhere a Faux Postage Pumpkin to the front of the mailer with gel medium.

Stamp “Boo” in black ink onto a scrap piece of kraft tissue paper. Use gel medium to glue to the front cover.

Add Seasonal ChitChat word stickers.

Use washi tape to the binding of the mailer for a decorative touch.

Embellish the slides or slide mailer with jute trim.
