NIKI MEINERS⎟ IN HER GARDEN SPRING 2023
Concrete is easier than ever to use and has become a staple in many home decor projects. These fun geometric concrete planters by Niki Meiners will withstand the weather beautifully, making them perfect garden decor. You can also easily add personality using a bit of paint. Disposable plastic containers can be used as molds, allowing you to customize the size and shape of the planters. CINDY FORTIN⎟ IN HER GARDEN SPRING 2022
Gardeners are often part of a plant’s lifecycle from the very beginning, nurturing a tiny seed into a thriving plant. Another way to increase one’s plant collection is through propagating cuttings, and these small snippets need “planters” of their own. Clear glass vessels work great for this purpose, and this “propagation station” by Cindy Fortin uses upcycled bottles mounted to old fence posts. Full instructions for this project can be found in the Spring 2022 Issue of In Her Garden.
TERESA JUE & KAITLIN MENDOZA⎟ IN HER GARDEN SUMMER 2023
When autumn rolls around, it’s hard to resist filling our homes and gardens with the charming presence of pumpkins. For a unique addition to your seasonal garden decor, transform a pumpkin into a playful succulent planter. Created by Teresa Jue and Kaitlin Mendoza, this pumpkin planter uses moss as the base for the succulents, providing a damp foundation while also looking oh so pretty. Full instructions for this project can be found in the Summer 2023 Issue of In Her Garden.
NANCY BROWN⎟ IN HER GARDEN SUMMER 2023
The next time you wander the aisles of a thrift or antique store, keep your eyes and mind open to the planter possibilities. “Nancyfangles” Brown saw planter potential in some miniature doll-sized chairs, and the creative result is stunning. Paint and embellishments added color and interest, while cutting a hole in the seat allowed for a pot to sit securely. Full instructions for this project can be found in the Summer 2023 Issue of In Her Garden.
CHRISTEN HAMMONS⎟ IN HER GARDEN SPRING 2024
A simple store-bought pot can become so much more with some eye-catching paper from your craft stash. Created by Christen Hammons, this terra-cotta pot was decoupaged with patterned tissue papers that evoke the spirit of birdsong. Perfect for display indoors, this decoupaged planter would also do well on a covered deck, patio, or balcony.
