Simply Transparent Art Journal Project
As soon as I saw these transparencies from Dina Wakley, I couldn’t wait to create something with them. As much as I love making tags, I felt compelled to do something different this time around. The idea to make a simple bound art journal came to me as I looked around my office for inspiration and spotted a pile of folded paper sitting next to a copy of Collage Collective.
To make the journal, tear a designed paper from Collage Collective (you can also create your own background if you’d like), and fold it in half. Tear Painted Marks tissue paper, and adhere it to the background with gel medium, and apply an additional coat on top of the tissue to seal. Cut out the portion of the transparency you want to use, and adhere it to the paper with gel medium. Spray a little purple ink onto the page, and let dry. Use gel medium to adhere tissue paper words to a piece of cardstock, and adhere to the page.
To bind, fold several pieces of paper in half. Place them inside the folded collaged paper, and punch two holes through the folds. Thread twine through the holes and tie with a bow to secure everything.
