Quick & Easy Mixed-Media-Inspired Tags
When I first spotted these circle stamps from Dina Wakley, I knew I had to have them. Though I wasn’t sure how I wanted to use them, I was drawn to the various patterns and the circular shapes. Like many supplies and materials I purchase, I set them aside waiting for inspiration to strike.
It finally did when I needed to wrap a couple of gifts for some of my artsy friends. After wrapping their gifts with black chalkboard paper, I wanted to add a pop of color. My eyes looked around my craft space and landed on a basket filled with painted paper scraps. I recalled the stamps and knew I wanted to use them to make gift tags. You could always paint your own backgrounds specifically for the tags, but you likely have a stash of scraps you haven’t been able to part with. Just stamp the design onto one of those scraps, and cut it out. Stamp words onto another paper scrap, cut them out, and adhere them to a piece of black cardstock. Staple the sentiment to the tag, punch a hole in the top, and tie it to the package. For an additional fun touch, tuck art supplies behind the twine.
