Techniques Featured in this Video:
Embossing powder is a fast-melting powder compound that can create a dimensional and textured effect onto any smooth surface. Simply use a heat tool to activate the embossing powder or UTEE Melt Art.
To create her background, Cat painted one her wooden shapes with gesso, but you can also work straight on the wood.
Apply embossing ink and add embossing powder, pouring the excess powder back into the container. Allow the heat gun to warm up, and then apply heat to the object. Watch as the texture of changes from powder to a glossy, textured finish. Get creative like Cat, and stamp in embossing ink and sprinkle with different embossing powers for a layered design.
