No Place Like Home Project
I’d wanted to make a project using our Wood House Shapes for some time now, but just couldn’t get inspired. It wasn’t until I saw the July/August 2015 issue of Somerset Studio that the inspiration bug bit me, and I was off and running. I love when that happens.
Sometimes all it takes is the smallest spark to get the creative flow going.
No Place Like Home Project Directions:
Collage wooden houses with Mélange Tissue Paper, gluing down with 3D Gloss Gel.
Use a foam brush to dry brush a light layer of gesso over the tissue paper. Sprtiz a bit of Cracked Pistachio Distress Spray Stain. Use the foam brush to absorb/wipe away most of the spray stain. Leave just enough to add a light tint of green.
Adhere scraps of corrugated cardboard to each house with gel medium.
Scallop-cut vintage book text, and glue to the roof line. Paint the top of the roofs with black acrylic paint.
Lightly sketch windows with a pencil, outline with a Stabilo All Marking Pencil, and then lightly coat with gesso.
Arrange keys and key holes, once satisfied, adhere with gel medium.
Stamp number with black permanent ink.
To finish, add lines, doodles, and outlines with a Stabilo All Marking Pencil, and ChitChat Word Stickers.
