Layered and Embossed Quirky Bird Project

I love the quirkiness of ARTchix Studio’s Birdy Paper Dolls collage sheet. With so much personality, they are really fun to work with. After creating this tag, I wanted to a little bit more to bring out the character and charm of the birds, instead of just leaving it as-is. Orange embossed spider webs on a black background felt like the perfect solution.

Layered and Embossed Quirky Bird Project

Stamp spider webs onto black foam core or a black painted surface with embossing ink, and then sprinkle with orange embossing powder. Use a heat gun to set.

Cut pieces from ARTchix collage sheet Paper Dolls Birdy). Piece together, and attach with glue dots.

Tear a strip of paper from Tim Holtz's Regions Beyond Paper Stash and also a smaller piece of book text.

Layer the book text and patterned paper, using glue dots or gel medium to hold together.

Glue layered papers onto a large grubby tag.

Attach bird and layered papers to tag with glue dots. Then attach the tag to the embossed background with gel medium or glue dots.
