Gold Leafed Bangle Bracelet Project
Around the same time that I was working on the Good as Gold Project, I started thinking about what else I could do with resin. I love all the bezels and jewelry that I’ve made with resin, but I was ready to branch out and try something new. This project was inspired by the unlikely discovery of mold putty in my craft stash. I’m not sure where it came from, but I thank the “mold putty fairies” that left it there for me. It was just what I needed to get inspired.
Gold Leafed Bangle Bracelet Directions:
Find a jar or vase that can fit around your wrist. It needs to be smooth at the top and the sides in order to cast a clean mold.
Blend mold putty together in equal parts according to the directions. Wrap around the top of the jar and smooth out the seam. Rub out any bumps or imperfections. Allow mold to harden according to the directions.
Mix resin in equal parts according to the directions. Sprinkle a few gold leaf mica flakes into the mold, then cover them completely with resin. Drop additional mica flakes into the resin until satisfied.
Allow resin to harden overnight, then pop bangle bracelet carefully out of the mold.
