Trousseau Receipt Holder Project
The 7gypsies receipt holder s one of my favorite home décor products so when I stumbled across a receipt holder on Pinterest that was painted white, I was so inspired and had to give it a whirl. I found the original online source for the project, which happens to be by artist Louise Nelson! Louise's receipt holder has been featured on the Aussie Scrap Source blog. Louise is a very talented artist and has graced the pages of Somerset Memories many times, and her artwork was actually on the cover of the Spring 2012 issue. There are a number of creative ways to use the receipt holder, I have listed just a few:
- Inspiration Board Photo Display
- Ephemera storage Display
- Memo Board Mail Storage (or receipts!) board
To start, I lightly sanded the surface of the receipt holder. Dust of the sand and then paint the board with white acrylic paint and allow to dry. Once the board is dry, you can go ahead and add all the ephemera and different elements you like. I used the Trousseau patterned paper and journal pages in most of the boxes. To add a little more interest, I layered most pieces, combining paper with the cards. On a few small areas, I added just a little of the Trousseau paper tape. For a couple of additional accents I added some vintage millinery flowers, and just a touch of green ribbon on the top left receipt holder.
