Sometimes Mixed-Media Spool Necklace Project by Roben-Marie Smith
Twist a thin piece of fabric and glue it around the center of a small wooden form spool. Start with a strip of fabric that is either a pre-printed design or you can alter fabric yourself with fabric paints, spray inks or StazOn inks. Attach a charm to a ball and chain, pull ends through holes in a button and pull both ends through the hole in the spool. Pull the ends of the chain through another button and tie a small piece of lace at the top. Using small alphabet stamps, imprint a word onto a piece of plain muslin with an India Ink Black pad, and trim and glue to center of spool.
Market List:
- Wooden Spools (small)
- India Ink Black pad
- Fabric strip about ½" x 12"
- Lace scrap
- Ball chain
- Two buttons
- Muslin
- Alphabet rubber stamps
- Fabric glue
- Charm
