Parchment Petal Pots Project
I never grow tired of creating home décor projects. The process of creating something personal or seasonal with a color palette that matches my current décor is always a project that leaves me feeling good--mostly because the artwork always gets displayed and enjoyed rather than tucked away in the back of a cupboard somewhere.
Flower embellishments are always useful, but I wasn’t in the mood for a paper crafting project so I decided to use them on old branches. I have seen many inspiring pictures on Pinterest of similar projects so I thought I would give it a whirl. Since the flowers are brown, I decided to spray-paint the branches white to make them really pop. I used spray-paint, but a white acrylic paint also works well.
Use a few tea tins or even old recycled cans for the vase. Give them a light sanding first and then paint them white also, just a rough coat (it doesn’t have to be perfect). Alter the tins using various Almanac journaling note. Attach the note to the tin with adhesive, then tie a piece of coordinating seam binding ribbon around the center.
Insert all the branches into the tins, stuffing the tins with white tissue paper to fill the spaces. Use glue dots or the adhesive of your choice to secure the various parchment petals onto the branches.
