Masquerade Madness: The Atomic Bomb Character! Project
By Vanessa Spencer
My inspiration for this project came from the "Atomic Bomb" character from our new book "Masquerade: Costume Inspiration From The 1920's to 1950's". With Halloween and New Year's approaching, we can all use a little magical masquerade inspiration!
Corsets: You will need a mini corset wire form and the regular corset wire form. Paint them with white acrylic paint. Paint the top and bottom edges and the bow on the back with black acrylic paint. Once dry, use a thin black satin ribbon to weave through the wire underneath the bust area. Use the same black ribbon as the lace on the back of the corset. On the large corset, attach a black velvet flower. On the mini corset, add a crystal embellishment.
Mask: Using the mask template below, trace the mask onto black cardstock. Cut it out, then spray with Pearl glimmer mist. Allow to dry. Decorate with white rub-ons and black crystal swirls. Punch holes in the sides and thread through some thin black ribbons!
