Begin with a plain composition book and cover the front and back covers with recycled paper. I used paper from old grocery bags and used Collage Pauge to glue the paper on. Roughly paint a white square onto the front of the journal using Gesso. For the image of the lady I used clip art images from Mary Mata Monarch collage sheet and the ARTchix Studio Loveliness collage sheet and dipped them into hot wax. Melt some beeswax into the Melting Pot and then take a paint brush and paint the wax onto the image.
I suggest laying the image onto wax paper while painting. The wax will dry fairly quickly. Once it has dried stamp a few bird images from the Cavallini & Co Paris stamp set onto the bottom area of the image using black StazOn ink. Then stamp the same bird image onto the Gesso, and tried to match them up to where you will be placing the wax image so that when you glue the wax image down, the birds will match up. Glue the wax image down then add some ribbon to the bind.
