Happy Halloween Hanging Project by Barbara Smith
Paint wood oval frame with distress crackle paint and let dry. Blend distress inks into crackle paint. Stamp images pieces on cream cardstock and color with pencils - the witch image is from the Character Constructions Bird & Bee Paperie No.20 set. Create a skirt from patterned paper and attach to other witch pieces. Use the inside edge of the frame as a guide for cutting the bottom of the skirt. Create a backing for the inside of the frame from various patterned papers and attach to the frame. Attach witch on top of these papers using foam tape. Bottom of witch skirt should run along inside edge of the frame.
Punch small stars and attach to background papers around the witch. Stamp letters on white or cream paper in black ink. Carefully cut out and apply to the outside of the frame. Paint grungeboard accents with black paint. Once dry, attach with flower to bottom of the frame. Cut ribbon to desired length for hanging and attach to the back of the frame. Create a back for the frame by cutting some pretty paper just smaller than the size of the back and then attach. This will cover the backs of the patterned papers used for the front, as well as the ribbon for hanging and provide a finished look to the project.
