Crafting Carryall Project
An altered paper mache purseis the perfect holder for a gift, crafting kit, baked goods and so much more.
Start by painting the purse (inside and out) with white gesso or white acrylic paint. Allow to dry. Trace the lid design onto the back of two different sheets of French General adhesive backed fabric. I chose to use the red designs to coordinate with the contents of my kit.
Cut out the designs and carefully attach one of the pieces to the lid. The piece that goes on the inside of the lid will need to be trimmed slightly smaller. Once it's the correct size, peel the backing off and attach to the inside of the lid.
Fill your purse with all things red, French and anything inspiring. In my kit I added a few of the ribbon spools by East of India, some of our handmade ticking fabric strips, grubby tags, bakers twine, glass glitter and some fun odds and ends.
