Chipboard Scrolls Project by Kristen Robinson
Chipboard scrolls by Maya Road become unique ornaments and wonderful embellishments during the holiday season. Add a bit glimmer mist and the pieces become magical.
Begin by wetting down the chip board scrolls with a spray bottle filled with water. Once the scrolls are damp begin shaping them in a curved manner this will allow you to attach them easily to the glass globe. Set aside on a cookie sheet to dry.
To create the glass ornament with the scrolls choose two of the cut outs that you manipulated into curved shapes. To the top of each scroll add a small hole (1/16") with either a paper punch or a hand drill. Spray each scroll front and back with the glimmer mist. Once you have sprayed them set aside to dry, or dry them with a heat gun allowing at least 4 inches between the end the gun and the chipboard as the heat might cause the paper to curl. Once the scrolls are completely dry attach them to the top of a store bought glass ornament with jump rings. I suggest removing the hanger portion of the ornament to do this, that way you will not endanger the glass. To the glass globe add a streamer of coordinating ribbon. Re-attach the top and add a piece of ribbon for hanging.
The streamer of scrolls in created in the same fashion as the ornament. Follow the same instructions up to the point in which a hole is placed into the top of each scroll - you will need to add an additional hole to the bottom of one of the scrolls, this will allow you to attach the scrolls. Once you have created your holes, insert a jump ring into the top and bottom of the largest piece, attach this to the remaining scroll. Add a piece of ribbon to the top and enjoy its beauty.
Chipboard scrolls and tagsare the perfect addition to any box that you are choosing not to gift wrap. Apply the glimmer mist to both the scroll and tag and set aside to dry. Once the pieces are completely dry attach them to a gift box and viola your gift is ready to present.
