Prime your canvas with gesso if necessary.
Using your favorite colors of acrylic paint, paint your background as desired. Once the paint has dried, you can stamp directly onto the canvas. You can also stamp onto paper first, cut the image out, and glue them on.
Add more layers by incorporating book text images, stamping with found objects, or by painting shapes and designs by hand. Try adding ephemera that has been sprayed/dyed with ink. The colorful shades that Dina has used are a fun mixture of the bright acrylic paints, color washes and inks.
