Who doesn’t love journaling? Having a private place to write down personal thoughts, to muse about the world, and to doodle and practice new art techniques is very important for the creative soul. This project will take your imagination to new heights with a unique cover that you can recreate yourself.
Soar Journal Project Instructions:
Next, using a piece of punchinella and some aqua colored acrylic paint, lightly stencil the punchinella designs on as desired; and let dry. If you want the acrylic paints to be lighter or darker do a little color mixing with your acrylics by adding white to any color base to make it lighter.
Wait for the paint to dry and then layer pieces of ephemera onto the cover. I used strips of the math washi tape on the bottom, some pieces of torn vintage text, and also a piece of torn paper that I had created using the Gelli Plates, a brayer, and acrylic paints. I used the Inkssentials Collage Glue Stick to glue the papers down.
Finally, use an acrylic mount and some black StazOn ink to stamp the I will Soar wings onto the cover. I also add the word “soar” with the Cavallini & Co. alphabet stamps.
You can easily personalize your journal by adding a different stamped message or color palette. When it’s done, you can use your new journal to experiment with different mediums, take notes, make lists, and much more.
