"I’m Thankful for …"
by Sarah Meehan
Coat a small Paper Mache Book with diluted Gesso. Once dry, layer light blue and white acrylic paints onto the outside covers. Paint Metallic Gold onto the stripes on the spine of the book and onto the outer edge of the inner box. Distress the edges of a sheet from the Ambrosia Paper Pad with a Paper Distresser. Rub the edges of the paper with Vintage Photo Distress Ink . Stamp script text from the Collage Cube onto a manila tag. Affix the tag onto the distressed paper at an angle, and embellish with a Paint Rub-On and a small vintage keyhole. Glue the entire panel to the front of the book box. Line the inside of the box with two coordinating sheets from the Ambrosia Paper Pad. Stain four, quarter-sheet pieces of cardstock with coffee or tea and let dry thoroughly. Tear four pieces from the Ambrosia Paper Pad and attach to the front of the cards. Print phrases that describe the things that you are thankful for onto ExtravOrganza and glue onto the lower corners of each of the cards. Try adding photos or mementos to the cards for an added touch.

Cut 2 panels of paper from the Ambrosia Paper Pad and adhere to the inside of the book. Stamp thankful sentiments on prepared kraft tags, tie with jute string and place in book.

Using a small paper mache book I first painted the covers and spine with cranberry acrylic paint. Using paper from the Basic Grey Ambrosia pad I cut the black and white patterned paper down to 4 ¼ x 5 ¾” and the orange paper down to 5 ½ x 4 ¼" then inked the edges of both using a brown ink pad. Take a piece of vintage book paper and tear it into a square shape and glue to the front. Then add a black rub-on to the top left corner. Using the elegant ledger stamp and tattered rose ink stamp the image into the bottom right corner. Use a black sharpie to draw the lines on the spine. Add an office clip to the top and you are done!
