Advent Art Calendar Project
We have to admit — we're big fans of using nontraditional holiday colors. While brainstorming ideas for this advent calendar, our Shoppe Manager settled on a color palette of greens and pinks, with an extra splash of blue and red for fun.
Instructions for Advent Art Calendar
Begin by cutting out 25 squares of 1.5”x 1.5” cardstock. If you have a small circle punch on hand, you can easily punch half circles on the squares for the notches on the boxes, or do it by hand.
Next, using a strong adhesive, glue all the squares on the boxes along with some coordinating strips of the same paper on the outer edges. Embellish the drawers by attaching some Papaya Art stickers. The small circle stickers in the set are the perfect size for the drawers.
Paint a few wooden buttons with blue acrylic paint and once they have dried, tie small knots on the buttons with red bakers twine. Glue the buttons onto a few of the drawers. For the three drawers in the middle row, use the banner stickers to spell out the word “advent.” Attach the banner shaped sticker (also from the Papaya holiday sticker set) onto the top left edge of the calendar, and add another blue button on top. Adding a Melissa Frances embellishment such as the stars to some of the other drawers would be perfect. Fill your countdown calendar with treats and start counting down to your favorite holiday!
