Fearless and Independent Original Art Journal Page by Sarah Donawerth
International Women’s Day was just a few days ago and I wanted to celebrate with an art journal that shows off strong, powerful women and their inherent elegance. With a nod to the sophistication of "Breakfast at Tiffany's," the page is about inner strength and poise. This art journal page in my Pastel Paradise Journal also has an interesting technique for the background using two different paints and rubbing alcohol that I have been dying to try.
Fearless, Independent, and Original Art Journal Page Directions:
Brush on Opal Magic Aqua Rose paint with a coarse brush, leaving visible brush strokes going across the page. Let dry.
Water down Night paint slightly, brush over the whole page. While still wet, drip rubbing alcohol over the page, allowing the Opal Magic paint to show through. The brush strokes from the previous step will create the interesting striping pattern on the page.
Let dry completely. Note: Do not use a heat tool to speed drying time because it will disturb the paint and cause it to form drip marks.
Transfer your rub-on with a popsicle stick, or the dull, flat side of a knife.
Adhere your clip art to the page and attach phrase sticker.
