Doodle to Your Heart's Content A Monthly Art Journal Project
Join us as we continue on our year-long journal challenge. In January, we created a set of journal prompts that you can find here, in hopes to keep you inspired to create your own art journal that you can carry along with you no matter where you are.
Our March challenge was to embrace the beauty of imperfection and doodle until you fill the entire page. This one challenged me to use items from The Shoppe in new and unique ways. So instead of doodling with a pen, I doodled with a stencil, and then incorporated some hand-drawn doodles. I love how the final piece turned out.
Are you following our monthly art journal prompts? We’d love to see what you are making. Share your artwork on Instagram using #StampingtonMade for a chance to be a featured artist on @stampington!
Doodle to Your Heart’s Content Directions
Lay Stencil Girl’s Wheel in the Sky stencil across your journal page, or if you choose, cover the entire spread.
Dab Dylusions Black Marble acrylic paint through the stencil using a Mini Ink Blending Tool. Allow the black paint to completely dry before continuing.
Next, outline and doodle in part of the stencils using Montana Acrylic Paint Markers.
Use a Ranger Ink Fude Ball pen to add fine black lines and doodles. Free-hand circles and add details to the center of each.
Paint in some of the doodled circles with Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise acrylic paint.
Add pink dots with the paint pens.
Add a light coating of gelatos in Snow Cone color to the largest circle and some of the details for a little added depth.
Finish with word stickers.
