Easy Colorful Wall Hanging with Guest Artist MixedMedia Jenn

Guest Artist MixedMedia Jenn Engle

Today’s post is by Guest Artist MixedMedia Jenn. Somerset Place would like to thank her for her contribution and amazing artwork.

I love creating art on smaller-sized surfaces. A small substrate doesn’t seem so overwhelming. With a smaller piece there is not as much pressure because if you hate it, just toss it and start again! Also, these smaller pieces take less time to make, which is a big plus in our busy lives.

I wanted to use some bright, cheerful colors and these Dylusions Paints do just the trick!

By starting with modeling paste thru a stencil, it adds interest and texture to the background without a whole lot of work.

I turned today’s 5 x 5 piece into a wall-hanging, but it could easily have been a card front, a mini-canvas or even an art journal page. Enjoy!
