All that Glitters Holiday Ornaments and Gift Wrap

No reviews yet

These new metallic rub-ons by Tim Holtz are so versatile. They can be used to adorn gift wrap or to make ornaments. This week, Sarah Donawerth and Bekah Ellington partnered together to see what they could create using the rub-ons. Sarah created ornaments using Sandra Evertson’s Relics and Artifacts, and Bekah Ellington created shimmering gift wrap using kraft paper and gold washi tape. In this collaborative project, we found that these rub-ons can be used on practically any surface and add some pizzazz to any holiday project!

All that Glitters Project Directions

1. Ornament Project Instructions:

Using Tim Holtz’s metallic rub-ons and Sandra Evertson’s chandelier pendants, position your design onto your pendant and rub with popsicle stick for a quick and easy ornament.

Tip: These chandelier pendants have faceted surfaces. To create a clear image, place the rub-on onto the first flat surface and rub just that area, then press down onto the next flat surface so that the rub-on lays flat on the next area and rub on. If you try to lay the whole design flat at once, you will end up with bubbles in the middle that don’t adhere.

2. Tassel Garland Project Instructions:

Wrap several yards of Divine Twine around an index card or similar piece approx. 4” tall.

Cut twine across the bottom of the card, keep lengths folded in half.

Wind one foot of twine around the bundle near the top and knot in the back.

Thread a long length of twine through the top of the bundled tassel.

Add one more tassel for gift wrap, or make more tassels in coordinating colors and hang on the wall for a pop of color.

3. Gift Wrapped Box Project Instructions:

Wrap gift box with kraft paper. Use decorative tape for an added touch.

Add rub-ons to the front and the back of the box.

Wrap tassel garland around the box.
