These scribbly stamps by Dina Wakley are inspired by Frida Kahlo’s many self-portraits and capture the strength of this iconic woman. These cards have a bit of cross-stitched thread to further emphasize the bright, Mexican folk art and textiles that Kahlo was famous for.
Stitched Fridas Project Directions:Stamp each Frida designonto spare cardstock with brown ink.
Set each piece of cardstock on top of a piece of cardboard or foam and poke holes for the embroidered design with a sharp stick or with a yarn needle.
Thread the Divine Twine through with an embroidery needle to create each stitched design. Tape the loose threads to the back of the stamped image.
Trim each stamped image and adhere to the front of a piece ofArtist Paper. Add a sentiment from the stamp set to the corner of the card.
