Rustic Burlap Succulent Favors
There are few things I love more than making party favors. I always do my best to be mindful of what my guests will actually use; the last thing I want to do is spend money and time on something that is promptly thrown away!
When I saw Canvas Corp’s colored burlap sheets, I immediately thought about making a project to pair the burlap with charming little succulents. There’s something about succulents and burlap… I think they complement each other perfectly!
These party favors are great because when they are taken home by guests they can be planted and enjoyed for years to come. The burlap gives each container a touch of rustic whimsy that is irresistible. Best of all, these burlap sheets are available in a variety of colors, which means they can be customized to fit the theme of any event.
Rustic Burlap Succulent Favors Tutorial:
Start by planting small succulent plantings into a mini wooden bucket. If you want, you can paint the wooden bucket with gesso to add a shabby chic look to the project.
Next, cut the colored burlap into strips measuring 2 inches wide and 9 inches long. Wrap the burlap strips around the wooden bucket, and use a hot glue gun to glue both ends.
Finally, stamp a fun sentiment onto a distressed metal rimmed tag with permanent black ink, and attach it to the bucket with twine.
